  1. My name is Katheryn. I am a mom of two very full-of-life boys. In my mind I am highly organized but in my current reality, not so much. I am a pianist living my childhood dream of doing music for a living. I love to laugh, learn languages, travel, sing, go for walks, do zumba, warm breezes and tropical waters, drink jasmine green tea, dogs and a good cocktail. This kind of feels like a dating profile, but I am happily married to my high school boyfriend.

  2. I am Jane Duenckel, mother of 4 and grandmother to 4. I’m a retired elementary school teacher who still enjoys promoting reading among children. At 70 years of age, I am very active in serving my community
    through membership in several organizations.
I enjoy reading, traveling , gardening, hosting gatherings in my home, and spending time with my grandchildren. My favorite time of the year is fall , with Thanksgiving being my favorite holiday.

  3. Hi, my name is Pat Mahone. I was a second grade teacher for 39 years and then subbed for ten. I enjoy working with children and helping them to love learning. At 73, ( which I used to think was so old) I am still active and am involved with several organizations and clubs. At church, I work with special education adults. My husband and I retired to a community built around a farm and we enjoy volunteering on it and eating all the fresh vegetables. We live in The Orchard part of the community and hope to have fruit next year. I love, love, love to read, craft, and art! My favorite place to be is wherever my grandchildren are. I have two grandsons ( 21 and 13) and a granddaughter who is 16. I’m looking forward to what God has planned for me in the future!

  4. Hello, my name is DonnaRobinson. I’m a 56 year old L.P.N. Presently, I’m unable to work due to disabilities.
Newly diagnosed M.S. but know that GOD has a plan for me, this is what keeps me positive.
I have 3 children, two girls and 1 boy. One of my daughters just made me a grandmother of a 3 month precious baby boy.
My husband Tom makes sure that all my needs are met daily, even though my care gets increasingly challenging.
Looking forward to learning from ABBIE and the other folks in this class.

  5. Hi, My name is Joyce Gill. I have 2 children, 2 grandchildren and a 7 month old great grandchild. In 2OO7, I retired from the Division of Legislative Automated System (A Division of the VA General Assembly). Unfortunately, My husband (Charlie) passed away 5 years ago. I am so thankful for my Ridge Church family.

  6. My name is Lynn. I found true love later in life and often feel like the oldest mom in elementary school. But having a 4th grader and a 7th grader not only keeps me busy, it keeps me young.

It might sound crazy to some people but my husband and I have worked at the same company/different departments for over 10 years. I not only enjoy all the lunch dates we have shared but have really enjoyed learning so many new things about him and his talents by working at the same company.

I enjoy serving with the children and mission groups at Ridge. I really miss the August pot luck supper.

My favorite time of day would be dinner. No matter how crazy, we find time to sit together around the table. Celebrating the highs of the day and encouraging each other for any lows really warms my heart.

  7. My name is Shannon. I was recently passed over for a promotion at work, and it’s hit me harder than I’d like to admit. I’m on a journey to redefine my priorities and seek out what brings me joy.

  8. Hello everyone! My name is Sheila Gill, 56 years old and was married to my husband Billy at Ridge 30 years ago. We have 2 children whom we are both proud of and one granddaughter. I recently retired from Dominion Energy after 35 years ago and am looking forward to this Bible study with all you lovely women!

  9. Hi, I’m Sheryl and I am a wife, mom and new grandmother! I don’t know what I want to be called yet – taking suggestions (GG is taken by my mom and Nan by Sydney’s mom) I am in my 25th year of teaching and find great joy in creating theatre with my students, which is the best part of my job. Teaching is hard right now (no theatre in person for now), but I think really important – especially making connections with lonely students more so than the learning at this time. I have been married for 32 years to Kirk, who truly is the ying to my yang. We make a great team. My mom lives with us. We enjoy spending time with my son, Matthew and his wife, Sydney and their new son, Owen (1 month old last Friday) as much as we can. I love the outdoors, travel, everything Disney and scrapbooking. I love what Shannon said about being on a journey. I feel the same right now and hope this Bible study helps me follow God’s lead down my next path.

  10. My name is Peggy, I am a wife of 29 years, mother to four adult children and Gram to four grandsons. I am fortunate to be working from home, a move I made after my mother suffered a serious stroke and my husband had multiple health issues. I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LCSW) providing online therapy. I am presently at a major turning point in my life, as I am in the process of leaving the group practice I’ve worked for and launching my own private practice . I am also “retiring” from teaching Sunday School after 25 years. I want to stay grounded in God’s word right now especially with all these life changes.

  11. Hi! I’m Diana. I’m a preschool teacher at a private preschool in Hanover County. I live with my dad and my brother. My hobbies include crocheting, reading, and playing the flute. I love being involved with my church family and extended church family through Bible studies, outreach, and children’s activities.

  12. Hey guys, my name is Nichole. I am 50 years old and work in healthcare. This season has been very tough for me emotionally. Because of the effects of my job and it’s impact onto others, I have limited myself socially due to the pandemic. I am so grateful for an amazing husband that I get to spend each day with and for my work friends. I do miss gathering with people of faith but I know that this is just a season. One major thing, I have struggled with this season has been persecution for something I did not do and learning to trust God through this time. I had decided to return to school to get my PHD but after 60 days into the program, my teacher turned me in for numerous counts of plagiarism for discussion board posts. Everyone including my attorney has reviewed the content and has found me innocent but I now face charges to the university to defend my honor and integrity. I have been beaten down by this, persecuted, but I do trust God and find my self waiting patiently to know what comes next. I search for every journey that brings me closer to hearing Gods voice.

    • Nicole, I will pray for you and for the true facts of your situation to be brought to light to everyone involved. I feel I know you well enough to believe you will continue to rely on, trust in , and wait for the Lord to see you through this. I love you‼️😘🥰🙏🙏🙏💕
